In the Jungle, the mighty jungle!

After locking our backpacks away with the mice in the cupboard, we waited impatiently for our trek group 2 arrive. 9 in the morning & already thinking that travelling through the jungle with all the bugs was a bad idea, a truck full of men turned up ready 2 take us on our journey. 5 French, 2 Irish, an Austrian couple & our 2 Thai leaders- 10men, 3ladies! cosy!
Like all Thai drivers, ours was a nutter, over taking on bends n wotnot, we were actually glad 2 get out for our 1st task. Swapping our trainers for flip flops, it was off 2 the river 4 some bamboo rafting.

Our raft leader was winding us up about crocodiles being in the water! :(

We got some pretty hats for our trip- hahahahahahaha! Geeks!

Jessie just sat back n relaxed, while the water soaked her bottom :(

After having a traditional Thai lunch we made our way 2 the start of the trek site, having a rest, getting ready, the boys played football n i out did them at shooting bottles.

We started on our way, up a massive mountain, probably the hardest thing iv ever done!

We bathed in a waterfall, it was so cold, but so nice after walkin in the heat! We had 2 get changed in the jungle, tried 2 find a consealed area, getting ready balancing on our shoes so our feet dont tread on giant ants, definately an experience!

We got to where the tribe lived and had a nap before dinner :) after dinner we all sat around the campfire singing & drinking moonshine (homemade whiskey- apparently!) me n jess got every1 singing in the jungle, the mighty jungle, all people from all nationalities, it was so surreal! Although the crazy tribe man wanted 2 sing old macdonalds had a farm with a pig duck 'snort snort' he was so off his head! you could smell him a mile away!

We then went back down the mountain, after havin bout 50 pieces of toast, back 2 the waterfall, made a lil boat. then had lunch, rode elephants, n then they decided 2 ride each other! crazy!

After we got back, we went out wiv the lads, had a crazy 1 on our 1st experience of thailand redbull, excited n hyper was not the word!!

Chiang Mai

After a 10hr bus journey we finally left Bangkok (nasty place) & arrived in the capital of the North- Chiang Mai!

here we got taken 2 our guesthouse from the bus station in an army truck and our large guesthouse worker carried both our heavy backpacks up 3 steep flights of stairs! reaching our room, laying on our very hard beds, lookin at our taped up windows we finally fell asleep :)

how funny!

We had a lot of fun in Chiang Mai, it was time of the light festival. When arriving in Chiang Mai, we didnt know why they they had the festival, but finding a temple and talkin to a monk, we found out it was in aid of Buddah day, where people light lanterns and fireworks, let lights float down the river and worship in the temples.

We saw parades almost everynight, with boys in sumo pants and ladies wiv beautiful ornaments in their hair.

We went to the night bazzaar & there was litterally anything you could possibly want! i would love to come back for holiday & buy all my christmas presents!

We also lit our own lantern, i was well excited! simple things please simple minds :)

starting out

Woooo, here we are, not even a week in & its already definately been an experience!!

Dirty Bangkok Me n Jess in our 1st tuk-tuk

Bangkok is a place in a league of its own, it smells like fish heads n mouldy ass, they drive like absolute loonies, dead dogs on the street & bizarrly enough the electronics are more expensive than at home, if u can find any!

The shopping malls are the main attraction in Bangkok, loads n loads!

Travelling around bangkok was fun, the tuk-tuks are mad, the subway has coins instread of cards & there are security and guards everywhere!
